The main goal of the Regional Bulgarian-Turkish Business Council “Trakya” is to assist the firms from the cross-border regions of Bulgaria and Turkey by encouraging the commercial and economic cooperation among them. Its main activities, with which it will achieve this goal, are as follows:
- Organize permanent exhibitions and fairs for the presentation of the firms and their products;
- Organize business forums and seminars for increasing the information that the firms have, training on current topics and establishing contacts;
- Realization of projects among the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the cross-border regions of Bulgaria and Turkey, related to fostering the business cooperation;
- Exchange of information among the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the cross-border regions of Bulgarian and Turkey;
- Presenting proposals in front of the state and municipal authorities of the cross-border regions in Bulgaria and Turkey, related to solving problems of the business and cooperation;
- Other activities depending on the interest.
The Regional Bulgarian-Turkish Business Council “Trakya” is established in the frame of a PHARE project BG 2003/005-632.02.01.007 “Regional Bulgarian Turkish Business Council”, CBC Bulgaria – Turkey Programme BG 2003/005-632.03-07 Joint Small Projects Fund.
During a Bulgarian-Turkish business meeting in the town of Haskovo held on 07.09.2006 with participants the representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Haskovo, Edirne and Kirklareli, a Protocol of Establishment was signed by the Presidents of the three Chambers for the creation of the Regional Bulgarian – Turkish Business Council. At the meeting, a Guideline of the Council was also presented, which after a discussion and a few proposals, was approved by the attending representatives of the Chambers.
