Overall objective
The overall objective of the project is to support the sustainable economic growth and the potential of the cross-border region Haskovo - Edirne. In the current project we have envisaged activities that encourage the establishment of economic partnerships and contacts between small and medium-sized enterprises from the target regions in the long run, which will help to improve the quality of life of the population in the target regions.
The specific objectives that will lead to the achievement of the overall objective are the following:
- Establishing contacts between Bulgarian and Turkish SMEs with the purpose of developing the business on the territory of the target border regions. With the development of the business relations between the firms we will create conditions for increasing the commercial exchange, the firms’ sales turnover, increase the number of employed /decrease the number of unemployed, respectively/ in Haskovo and Edirne districts and hence improve the life standard in these regions.
- Create conditions for the influx of foreign investments in our country and more specifically in the Haskovo region. We have planned activities that will give our guests from Republic of Turkey the chance to convince themselves in the favorable conditions for new investments in our country.
- Familiarize our Turkish partners and guests with excerpts from the European legislation concerning the external trade operations.
- Turn the model of work on the project in a know-how, which will become a good practice and multiply itself in other cross-border regions in the country. In this respect for participation in the events other partner Chambers of Commerce and Industry working on the territory of the border regions in Bulgaria nd Turkey will be invited.
Provide opportunities for follow-up and build on a previous cross-border project of Haskovo CCI, which has created the base of the existing relations between the firms, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry and other institutions. With the implementation of the current project we will close the cycle that builds sustainable network of partnerships aimed at achieving economic prosperity of the border regions Haskovo – Edirne.
