JOINT SMALL PROJECTS FUND

Overal objective of JSPF:
The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the co-operation between the communities on either side of the border in economic development, living conditions and on-going contact in order to help them overcome specific development problems resulting from their relative isolation in the framework of national economies.
Specific objective of JSPF:
The action aims at encouraging and supporting the establishment or further development of sustainable co-operation networks between local and regional stakeholders in the border region in order to increase personnel and institutional capacity for co-operation and participation in future development programmes.
Priority areas:

• Economic development – projects which support the economic basis of the border region;
• Tourism – projects aimed at developing the tourism in the region;
• Cultural exchanges – projects targeted towards the establishment of traditions and long-term cooperation;
• Institutional capacity building at local level – projects which improve the skills of organizational structures in local and regional administrations
• Justice and home affairs – projects that focus on improving and increasing the efficiency of border control.

The cooperation region includes the eligible districts of Haskovo, Yambol and Bourgas from Republic of Bulgaria and the eligible provinces Edirne and Kirklareli from Republic of Turkey.
